Eddy Current Testing

Radiographic Testing

Radiographic testing , is an important nondestructive test method, unique in its ability to see through objects. Radiologic testing differs from most other methods because of its freedom of orientation and noncontact operation. The basic principle of radiologic testing with photons (X and gamma) is the attenuation of photon transmission through material according to the density times the thickness. This effect makes features or discontinuities that alter the D x T readily detectable. Radiologic testing with other radiation sources, such as neutrons, follow similar operational principles as X-rays but with attenuation characteristics particular to that specific radiation ‘s interaction with matter.
